Description
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Accounting Manager oversees the organization's general ledger accounting function and is responsible for the following, including but not limited to:
- Manage the monthly financial close process, including the preparation and initial review of internal financial statements, validation of accruals, account reconciliations, and gross profit analysis
- Research, analyze, and document non-routine accounting transactions to ensure compliance
- Drive the accuracy and efficiency of the financial close and revenue recognition processes by identifying and implementing process improvements that enhance controls, streamline workflows, and improve reporting quality
- Analyze financial and operational results, identify key business drivers, and communicate insights and recommendations to senior leadership and operational teams
- Coordinate with external auditors to support audit activities and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting
- Support the treasury function of the organization through cash reconciliation, cash flow management, and daily banking processes
- Partner with the FP&A team to support the annual budgeting and forecasting process
- Lead and support finance initiatives, including system enhancements and process improvements that expand scalability and operational efficiency as the organization grows
- Supervise, mentor, and develop team members by fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment focused on continuous learning and professional growth
- Provide ongoing support to the Controller on strategic finance and accounting initiatives, special projects, and other responsibilities as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and internal controls, with a thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting applications, with the ability to leverage technology to improve accounting processes and reporting
- Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data and prepare accurate, meaningful financial reports, forecasts, and business analyses
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with Microsoft Access or other data analysis tools is preferred
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organization
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing team members
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and leveraging technology to enhance accounting processes and operational efficiency
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA and relevant experience in public accounting preferred
- Progressive leadership experience in accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger management
