Medica's Financial Analyst IV is responsible for analyzing financial data for our Individual Family Business (IFB) and Commercial segment finance teams. This role maintains and updates financial models and reporting analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes. This position will work to improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending actions to management. Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports, summaries, and presentations materials for leadership reviews. Collaborate with cross functional teams to develop financial analysis and support decision-making.

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5+ years of related experience within data analysis, financial reporting, financial analysis, and/or forecasting experience required beyond degree
  • Expert or advanced MS Excel skill and PowerPoint experience


Skills and Abilities:

*Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams ex. Actuarial, Claims Operations, etc.

*Experience with budget and forecasting cycles within a complex organization

*Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint experience

*Analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills

*Demonstrated problem solving skills required for this role

*Ability to present data in a consumable format

*Result driven and detail oriented with the ability to manage and collaborate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications:

*7+ years of related experience

*Knowledge of the health insurance industry, operations, and key expense drivers.

*Knowledge and experience with GAAP and statutory accounting

*Experience presenting and preparing materials for leadership in a clear and concise manner

*Adaptability and fast learning ability. Solution-oriented project management skills.

*TM1 and/or SQL experiences desired

This position is an Office role, which requires an employee to work onsite at our Minnetonka, MN office, on average, 3 days per week.

The full salary grade for this position is $88,800 - $152,300. While the full salary grade is provided, the typical hiring+ salary range for this role is expected to be between $88,800 - $133,245. Annual salary range placement will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, education, work experience, applicable certifications and/or licensure, the position's scope and responsibility, internal pay equity and external market salary data.
