Job Summary: The Program Manager leads strategic initiatives to implement, optimize, and modernize the organization's operations and technology capabilities. This role serves as a critical bridge, ensuring seamless collaboration between Technology (IT) and Business Operations by translating high-level business objectives into clear goals for the technology team, keeping them focused on prioritized, high-impact deliverables. Reporting to the Director of Project Portfolio Management (PMO), the role ensures that programs deliver outcomes aligned with overarching organizational objectives, shifting focus from individual project goals to long-term program value and desired business outcomes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Define program strategy, roadmaps, and objectives in alignment with executive sponsors and business
goals, partnering with stakeholder management on solutions that contribute to defined outcomes. - Lead cross-functional planning and directly manage key projects or workstreams within the program,
fluidly applying predictive, agile, or hybrid methodologies and coaching teams to achieve predictable value delivery. - Compile project proposals to establish clear business case arguments, ROI, resource requirements, and
change management approaches. - Provide holistic financial stewardship and budget management for the program portfolio, including
forecasting, resource/vendor cost allocation, and ROI tracking. - Build, drive, and manage comprehensive project plans, proactively communicating with internal teams,
external vendors, and stakeholders to coordinate execution and manage risks/issues. - Partner with system managers and business project sponsors to compile "Transition to Support" plans,
define post-project ROI value-tracking, and conduct lessons learned exercises. - Manage, mentor, and supervise Project Managers and Coordinators, evaluating capacity and onboarding
key resources to scale delivery teams.
Position Requirements (Work Experience, Skills, Licenses, etc.):
- Demonstrated experience in program management, managing multiple related projects as a cohesive
whole with a strategic mindset. - Exceptional communication, interpersonal, storytelling, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to
partner and influence effectively across teams and executives. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to think strategically and act
decisively. - Proficiency in financial value calculations (ROI, IRR, NPV), budget variance forecasting, and capital vs.
operational cost management. - Knowledge and practical application of Lean Six Sigma tools and methods to evaluate and improve process
efficiency. - Understanding and application of Change Management frameworks in projects, such as PROSCI/ADKAR.Hands-on experience with project management collaboration tools like Smartsheet, Jira, and Project
- Portfolio Management (PPM) systems.
Ability and experience using generative AI to streamline administrative tasks in project management while maintaining compliance with sensitive data, cyber risk, and ethical policies. Education and Experience: Required: - Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, MIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Seven or more years of project leadership experience, including at least one year of direct program
management oversight. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and Agile methodology training and applied experience. Desired: Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification; CSPO or SAFe certification; experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) systems (e.g., Planview, Planisware, Clarity, similar). Job Responsibility Level: People manager with direct reports Travel Requirements: Travel required 0-5% of the time to other office locations. Hours: This is an exempt position. Workdays are scheduled from Monday through Friday. Typically, work hours begin and end between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm as scheduled with the position's supervisor. Work outside of regular hours may occasionally be necessary to meet business needs. Physical Demands:
Competitive Wages:
- $133,000 to $172,000 Annual Salary. Applicants please note that actual compensation is determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location, among others. The offered wage or salary is only one aspect of an employee's total compensation.
