Teach English courses in the English department under the Division of the Humanities and Learning Communities.



  • ENG-111: College Writing I

    This course emphasizes writing as a process for essays with multiple rhetorical modes. Using personal experience, readings with diverse cultural perspectives, and other sources, students apply critical reading and independent research skills to evaluate and integrate sources into their writing with proper citations from MLA and/or APA format.
  • ENG-112: College Writing II

    This course focuses on development of thesis-driven essays supported by multiple sources and tailored to a target audience. Students will gain competency in synthesis, analysis and evaluation of multiple sources as well as demonstrate proficiency in conducting research and applying MLA and/or APA format.


The primary assignment is at Brighton High School with a possibility of teaching at Charlestown and Chelsea campuses and other partner sites.

Requirements:



  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in English or related field.
  • Evidence of engagement in culturally responsive pedagogies.
  • Experience with high impact teaching and learning practices (examples: undergraduate research, community engagement, critical pedagogies, learning communities).
  • Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student population.
  • Community college teaching experience preferred.


Additional Information:

Salary: $1512.00 per credit.
