Introduction

This Classification is considered exempt and is not subject to the Civil Service Examination process.

This position is open to all candidates, both internal and external, who meet the minimum requirements.

Residency Requirement:There is no residency requirement to submit an application; however, all District employees must be domiciled within the boundaries of the District within six months of successful completion of probation. (The District is in Cook County, Illinois, covering approximately 90% of the county area.)

Probationary Period:The probationary period for this classification is one year (250 days worked).

Application Submission Information
Duties: Under direction of the Director of Human Resources, assists in the management of the human resources programs of the District.

Minimum Qualification Requirements: Graduation from a four-year accredited college or university majoring in human resources administration, industrial relations, public administration or a related field and eight years of progressively responsible technical and administrative experience in human resources, four years of which must have been at an administrative or supervisory level. Substitution: Full time graduate study in a pertinent field may be substituted for the non-supervisory experience on a year-for-year basis.

  4. Oversight or assistance in the management of Human Resources initiatives related to an organizational or strategic plan.

Appointment is subject to successfully passing a physical examination, a drug test and a criminal history background investigation.


Salary/Pay Plans

The salary listed above is Step 1 in a structured pay plan. At 6 months of employment with the District, the salary will increase to Step 2: $171,000.70. At 18 months, the salary will increase to Step 3: $181,364.30. There are 9 total steps for TAM 20 of the pay plan (view fullpay plan). These increases are based on service time in the job classification and require a 'Meets Standard' performance rating.
