Position Overview:

PBS takes a multiplatform approach to content development, distribution, and marketing across broadcast and digital platforms. This content marketing-focused role supports the growth and engagement of digital audiences, with an emphasis on discoverability, streaming performance, and long-term content value.

The Manager, Producer Management provides day-to-day content marketing execution and tactical support for general audience National Producer series, films, and priority one-off titles on digital platforms. This role helps ensure PBS national producer content is discoverable, performant, and prepared for AI-driven discovery environments through the timely delivery of clips, metadata, and supporting assets.

This position supports a critical business function by helping prepare and track contractually required Content Marketing Strategy Plans and related deliverables, enabling timely producer payments and protecting PBS's financial and strategic investment in national content. The role supports PBS's ability to scale national content, meet board-level performance goals, and preserve long-term content value as discovery ecosystems continue to evolve.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support the preparation, tracking, and quality review of Content Marketing Strategy Plans and related deliverables required for national producer payment, ensuring compliance with PBS requirements.

  • Manage the delivery, quality, and organization of clips, metadata, and supporting assets for assigned producers to support discoverability across AI-driven and emerging distribution platforms.

  • Execute content marketing strategy for assigned national producers across the digital content lifecycle, from planning and launch through optimization, maintenance, and sunsetting.

  • Serve as the day-to-day liaison for assigned national producers, translating PBS digital requirements into clear, actionable guidance, including during system transitions and platform updates.

  • Provide tactical support and communication to assigned national producers on digital standards, analytics, platform changes, and compliance initiatives.

  • Onboard and train new and existing producers on PBS products, systems, and best practices, in collaboration with the Digital Support team.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally within PBS Digital & Marketing and with partners across the organization to align assigned producer efforts with PBS audience, platform, and business objectives.

  • Identify and escalate operational, financial, and reputational risks related to assigned producer deliverables tied to funded shows and initiatives.

Requirements for success:

  • 4 years' experience in digital publishing, media production, or content marketing, with experience in web strategy, analytics, and SEO/AIO best practices.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex workflows, shifting priorities, and cross-functional stakeholder communications.

  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across creative, technical, and business teams.

  • Sound editorial judgment and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of content management systems, analytics tools, and web publishing technologies.

  • Digital media experience preferred; public media experience a plus.

The base pay range for this position at the beginning of employment is expected to be between $70,000 and $80,000/year. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements for eligible employees, including: (i) eligibility for discretionary bonuses; (ii) various insurance options, including medical, dental, vision, hearing, life, accidental death and dismemberment, short-term and long-term disability, and business travel accident insurance; (iii) identity protection program; (iv) employee assistance program; (v) financial and retirement savings benefits including the PBS Retirement Plan 403(b); (vi) paid time off (17 days per year), paid sick time benefits (12 days per year), paid parental leave (60 days / 12 weeks ), and paid holidays (12 days per year).
