This position oversees a portfolio of finance leaders (managers/directors) and partners with them and their site-based operational/clinical leaders to drive financial performance. Leads annual financial planning/budgeting, monitors key financial and business metrics to assess performance relative to plans, and oversees development of short- and longer-term improvement approaches. Works closely with the senior executive team and, in some cases, the Board of Directors to develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures to ensure the system's success. This role may be called upon to lead system-wide finance initiatives and must maintain strong working relationships with all functional leaders, such as Accounting, Materials Management, and Revenue Cycle, to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction. Responsible for ensuring compliance with organizational and external standards and keeping up to date on the latest industry and regulatory knowledge.

Physician Organization
This portfolio will include two academic and one community physician organization and their respective finance teams (~40 FTEs) with key focus on integration and standardizing financial processes and supporting clinical departments in understanding and improving performance.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
    Monitor the team's effectiveness: evaluate and balance the quality/quantity of work output and oversight of responsibilities across the portfolio.
  • Create and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and take corrective action as needed.
  • Research and analyze data to identify areas of improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the healthcare center's performance. Establish goals and relationships to drive organization revenue growth and improve expense efficiency and hold the team accountable for related outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures to ensure efficient operations.
  • Present summary information to Senior Business leaders, executives, and committees.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare organizations, government agencies, and community partners.
  • Lead system and process improvement initiatives.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree Business Administration required or Bachelor's Degree Finance required or Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Management required

Licenses and Credentials:

Experience
Experience in a senior leadership role, with a strong track record of success 5-7 years required and Experience in developing and managing budgets and financial reports within a complex hospital system 5-7 years preferred

Salary band:

$300 - $350K (depending upon experience)
