The targeted hiring range for this full-time position is $55,400-$74,700 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. Job Description

This role follows a hybrid work model, offering flexibility to work remotely while coming together in the office in Red Wing, MN on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for collaboration. There may also be occasional in-person "Moments that Matter" and key business needs throughout the year that require additional days in the office.Candidates should live within commuting distance of Red Wing, MN at the time of hire. General Purpose of the Job

The Planner is responsible for managing purchase orders and inventory for Red Wing branded footwear, workwear, accessories, and related products. This role ensures optimal inventory levels by balancing demand forecasts, inventory on hand, products in transit, and supplier capacity. Success requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and suppliers to support customer demand, inventory performance, and supply chain continuity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage inventory levels and purchasing decisions using MRP/Logility demand planning tools.
  • Execute purchase orders and releases to maintain product availability while optimizing inventory investment.
  • Monitor demand, inventory, supplier capacity, and lead times to support on-time delivery and service levels.
  • Partner with Demand Planning, Merchandising, Sales, Sourcing, and suppliers to manage existing products and support new product launches.
  • Track supplier performance and drive improvements in delivery, quality, cost, and service.
  • Resolve purchase order, receipt, and invoice discrepancies with suppliers, warehouse, and finance teams.
  • Monitor backorders and expedite shipments as needed to meet customer demand.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing documentation, including pricing, terms, and delivery requirements.
  • Support annual budget planning through pricing analysis and standard setting.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including supplier site visits as needed.
  • Collaborate with Product Creation, Logistics, and Finance to ensure compliance with procurement processes and best practices.
  • Support company values and complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics (or) two years equivalent with related work experience
  • Computer skills and experience with MRP systems (Infor), Logility, Excel, and other MS applications
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others and work effectively with cross functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Continuous improvement skills and ability to lead change
  • Problem solving, cost analysis and action planning
  • Understanding of and experience in applying procurement principles
  • Supplier contract negotiation experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • ASCM (Association Supply Chain Management)
    • CPIM (Certified Purchasing Inventory Management) or CSP (Certified Supply Chain Management)
