Job Summary
#CA-KN The Home Infusion Biller ensures timely and accurate billing and processing of home infusion medical and pharmacy claims. This includes edit resolution, patient demographic analysis and correction, authorization/referral review and claim attachments. Under general supervision, applies acquired skills and professional concepts of healthcare billing and reimbursement to execute all stages of revenue cycle workflow for home infusion. Involves revenue cycle functions for the healthcare enterprise, including system billing, reporting and support. Ensures account information contains accurate and comprehensive data to provide timely billing and optimal reimbursement for services. Impacts processes to include charge capture, coding, insurance identification, data entry, billing, payment posting, refund processing and collections. May also be responsible for / integrated with business office operations. The Home infusion biller may also follow-up on claims with Commercial and Government payors to ensure maximum reimbursement based on payor contracts and/or regulations. - Previous billing experience in a health care environment.
- Skills in data management and analysis.

- Experience in managing and analyzing billing and accounts receivable processes.
- Knowledge of billing codes including CPT, HCPCS, REVENUE CODES & ICD10.

- Ability to manage a heavy workload with frequently changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Detail oriented, with demonstrated organizational skills and the ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, set schedules, and complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Manages insurance reimbursement from third-party billings and government insurance programs. Keeps abreast of the full array of third-party contracts and billing/collections requirements.

- Applies acquired skills to collaborate in gathering data, identifying trends, and performing financial analysis of technical charging, coding, billing, claims and denials.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Home infusion billing and/or revenue cycle experience
- Experience with Medicare CMS billing guidelines
- Experience in billing hospital facility claims
- Pharmacy billing experience (NCPDP D.0)
- Revenue cycle experience in EPIC.
- Knowledge of home infusion billing and reimbursement procedures for Commercial/Managed Care and or Governmental programs.
- Knowledge of UCDH accounts receivable systems and online eligibility systems to research and update accounts accordingly.

The Department of Pharmacy is a dynamic, integral, and critical part of patient care provided by UC Davis Health. As a department of greater than 600 professional, technical, and administrative support personnel, we focus on providing patient-centered medication management that optimizes outcomes through practice, education, research, and leadership through the continuum of care. We also have the largest pharmacy residency program in the country with 46 total residents in 13 different programs.
The Department of Pharmacy offers comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, and teaching) throughout the health system complex 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The pharmacy services encompass inpatient pharmacy services as well as an expansive footprint in the ambulatory care space where we have clinical pharmacists embedded within our clinics and specialty care locations. Our operational teams support the health system enterprise with three inpatient pharmacies, five outpatient pharmacies, two infusion pharmacies, a home infusion service line, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores, and distribution.
UCDH Home Infusion is a new department aimed at bringing advanced infusion care to patients in the comfort of their homes.
