Job Summary

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) serves as an integral member of the Department of Psychiatry's team, providing screening, assessments, short and intermediate-term psychotherapy services, crisis intervention, care coordination, referral to community resources, and other social work services designed to meet the complex needs of patients and families in the clinic setting. The incumbent will be actively involved in providing supportive therapy services and case management/coordination to patients and families seeking services in both the Adult and Children's Behavioral Health clinics. This position will be equally split between providing clinical/therapy services and case management, pending operational need.

The LCSW shall adhere to and promote the ethics and values of the social work profession, using the NASW Code of Ethics as a guide to ethical decision-making. The LCSW will advocate for the patient's right to self-determination, confidentiality, access to supportive services and resources, and appropriate inclusion in decision-making that affects their health and well-being. The LCSW will be an active participant and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team by recognizing and offering services that address the biopsychosocial needs of the patient.

The LCSW position requires a high level of clinical judgement, problem-solving skills, creativity, organizational and problem-solving abilities, and excellent clinical and communication skills.

The LCSW demonstrates the ability to fulfill these responsibilities through clinical assessment and treatment, accurate and sound judgment, and maintaining professional communication. The LCSW may be asked to participate in special projects and collect data to improve the quality of services delivered to our patients. The LCSW must be flexible, as changes in technology, healthcare coverage, regulatory requirements, and our patient population may mandate changes to workflow, work standards, and work practices on an as-needed basis.
