Hours

  • 3:00 pm- 11:30 pm (Monday- Friday)
  • Overtime Daily or Saturdays as required by Production

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, with a commitment to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $20.70. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Finisher!

Are you interested in metal finishing and working with advanced plating processes? S&C Electric Company is seeking a motivated individual to join our Electroplating Department. As an Electroplating Finisher, you will support the production of high-quality plated components by preparing parts, loading and unloading plating racks and barrels, operating plating equipment, and following established processes and safety procedures.

The Electroplating Department performs specialized metal finishing processes including cleaning, surface preparation, electroplating, chemical treatment, inspection, and material handling. You will work in a production environment where attention to detail, quality, safety, and teamwork are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify parts using blueprints, work instructions, and job documentation to ensure proper processing and traceability.

  • Perform pre-plating surface preparation including cleaning, such as sand blasting, vapor blasting, or tumbling.

  • Load and unload parts onto plating racks or barrels while following proper handling procedures.

  • Operate electroplating equipment, monitor process conditions, and follow established chemical and plating procedures.

  • Learn and perform plating processes involving chemicals, tanks, and process controls.

  • Perform inspections to ensure parts meet quality requirements.

  • Use basic measuring equipment such as tape measures and other inspection tools like; X-ray machines, micrometers, and calipers.

  • React to system alarms and report equipment or process issues.

  • Perform basic chemical maintenance tasks and housekeeping to maintain a safe and organized work area.

  • Follow all safety procedures, including required PPE such as glasses, Tyvek suits, chemical-resistant gloves, face shields, respirators, and other protective equipment when required.

What you'll Need To Succeed:

  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures.

  • Ability to learn new tasks related to chemistry, electroplating processes, and equipment operation.

  • Basic knowledge of shop math and measurements.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of chemicals and safe chemical handling preferred.

  • Previous metal finishing or electroplating experience is a plus.

Physical demands:

  • Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking.

  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of parts and materials ranging from 5 lbs. to 40 lbs.

  • Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances within the production area.

  • Carrying: Frequent carrying of parts and production materials.

  • Pushing/Pulling: Occasional pushing and pulling of carts, pallet jacks, plating equipment, and other material handling equipment.

  • Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely handle parts of various sizes and shapes.

  • Reaching: Continuous range of motion, including reaching above shoulders and below knees.

  • Handling: Continuous handling of parts ranging from small components to larger assemblies.

  • Other: Respirator certification will be required. Employees will be required to wear chemical-resistant PPE, including Tyvek suits, gloves, face shields, and other protective equipment while performing chemical-related tasks.
