Job Description:
Scope & Ownership
Owns the combustor: burners and fuel injection, burner air distribution, combustor shell, and combustor seals - including combustion performance, emissions (low-NOx / DLE), ignition and altitude relight, and combustion stability. For a sufficiently strong hire this role may also own combustion-dynamics analysis.

Minimum Education
*Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
*Master"s or PhD in combustion preferred

Experience
*6-8 years of gas-turbine combustor development, or a combustion PhD plus ~3 years
*Hands-on dry-low-emissions / low-NOx combustion and fuel-nozzle design
*Rig testing and combustion-instability mitigation
*FSI / aeroelasticity or thermoacoustics exposure desirable

Skill Requirements
*Combustion theory; reacting-flow CFD
*Fuel-system and fuel-nozzle design; ignition and operability
*Emissions (NOx/CO) and DLE architectures; DFMEA
*Instrumentation; Python/Matlab; 2D/3D CAD

Responsibilities
*Take sole ownership of hardware development from clean-sheet through high rate production across multiple components of the Client PE-10
*Collaborate with other REs to define interface requirements and manage coupled interactions
*Collaborate with Analysts to derive loads, environments, and response characteristics of your hardware across its operating envelope
*Develop and execute test and qualification plans for your hardware
*Analyze test and qualification data to derive margins and iterate on designs
*Collaborate with Production to develop and execute prototype, low rate, and full rate production of your hardware while balancing performance, cost, and complexity
*Flex across multiple disciplines and scopes as necessary

Responsible Engineer
a.Own end-to-end requirements development, design, analysis, test, qualification, and lifecycle management
b.Expected to perform hand calcs and straightforward FEA / CFD tasks
