Overview:
Fredrikson is seeking a strategic and collaborative Manager of PMO to join our Legal Operations team. Reporting to the Chief AI & Legal Operations Officer, this newly created leadership role will establish and lead the firm's Project Management Office (PMO), driving enterprise project governance, portfolio management, and operational excellence across the organization.

This leader will play a key role in advancing the firm's strategic technology, AI, operational excellence, and business transformation initiatives. The Manager of PMO will develop the frameworks, methodologies, and best practices that enable successful project delivery while partnering with firm leadership to prioritize strategic initiatives, allocate resources effectively, and deliver measurable business value. This leader will also build and mentor a high-performing team of project managers and business analysts, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

This is a hybrid position requiring candidates to reside in Minnesota and maintain a regular in-office presence.

Key Responsibilities Include:
- Establish, implement, and continuously enhance the firm's PMO, including governance frameworks, methodologies, standards, and best practices
- Lead the intake, prioritization, planning, and execution of strategic initiatives across the firm
- Manage the firm's portfolio of active projects, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, budgets, resources, and timelines
- Develop and maintain project governance structures, policies, procedures, templates, and reporting tools
- Collaborate with firm leadership to define project priorities, success metrics, and strategic roadmaps
- Monitor project and portfolio performance, proactively identifying risks and ensuring successful outcomes
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project governance, communication, and executive reporting
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and lead a team of project managers and business analysts
- Integrate business analysis, process improvement, organizational change management, and continuous improvement practices into project delivery
- Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence

Our Ideal Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Significant experience establishing or leading a PMO, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
- Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional strategic initiatives
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams
- Strong understanding of project governance, portfolio management, resource planning, and change management
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, HighQ, or similar platforms
- PMP certification preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment while managing confidential information

The salary range for this position varies by geographical market. In Minneapolis, the estimated starting annual pay range is $145,000-$160,000. Compensation will depend on experience, skills, education, professional background, overall qualifications, and geographic market location.
