Acara Solutions is seeking an experienced Database Administrator IV to join a leading financial institution in Buffalo, NY. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior-level database professional who thrives on designing enterprise-scale database solutions, driving technical strategy, and partnering with business and technology leaders to deliver secure, high-performing systems.

As a Database Administrator IV, you'll play a critical role in shaping the organization's database environment by:

• Architecting and designing enterprise-level RDBMS solutions for complex initiatives
• Serving as the technical subject matter expert for database technologies and best practices
• Partnering with application owners and technology teams to deliver scalable, secure database solutions
• Translating business requirements into technical database designs and recommendations
• Leading database strategy for regulatory, compliance, maintenance, and enhancement initiatives
• Driving database performance tuning, optimization, reliability, and availability
• Evaluating new database technologies and vendor solutions
• Managing business continuity, disaster recovery, auditing, and risk mitigation processes
• Leading testing efforts and ensuring successful implementation of database enhancements
• Providing technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior database professionals
• Collaborating with architecture teams, vendors, executives, and business stakeholders on enterprise initiatives
• Supporting production environments while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

We're seeking a highly experienced database professional with:

• Expert-level experience administering Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)
• Strong database architecture and enterprise solution design experience
• Proven ability to lead complex technical projects from concept through implementation
• Experience working within highly regulated enterprise environments (banking, finance, healthcare, etc. preferred)
• Strong knowledge of database performance tuning, optimization, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
• Experience supporting compliance, audit, and risk management initiatives
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to mentor technical teams and provide strategic technical direction
• Experience working with vendors and evaluating emerging technologies
