Controller

Are you an experienced Controller looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact? We're partnering with a well-established and growing construction company in the Kansas City area to identify a strategic financial leader who enjoys partnering with operations and driving business performance.

In this highly visible role, you'll oversee the accounting function, lead financial reporting, and provide key insights to executive leadership while supporting the company's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial planning
• Manage job costing, WIP schedules, and project financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and tax requirements
• Develop and mentor the accounting team while driving process improvements
• Partner with executive leadership to support strategic business decisions

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Construction industry accounting experience required
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, and project accounting
• CPA preferred
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to build relationships across the organization
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
