Pay Rate: $63.90 - $92.30 per hour (based on experience) |Schedule: Monday-Friday | 7:30 AM-4:30 PM

Payroll Analyst Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3-5 years of payroll processing, payroll analysis, payroll administration, or related experience required.
  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field preferred; equivalent payroll experience considered.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll processes, payroll regulations, and payroll compliance requirements.
  • Experience with federal and state payroll taxes, wage regulations, deductions, benefits, and labor law requirements.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle/PeopleSoft North America Payroll or similar payroll systems required.
  • Experience with SOX compliance, FLSA regulations, state compliance, and payroll audits preferred.
  • Knowledge of multi-state payroll, global payroll processes, expatriate/inpatriate payroll, or international payroll compliance is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research discrepancies and resolve payroll issues.
  • Advanced attention to detail with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with employees, HR, benefits teams, finance teams, and auditors.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information professionally.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in a hybrid work environment.


Payroll Analyst Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process and maintain accurate payroll records, including employee compensation, hourly rates, salaries, bonuses, commissions, deductions, benefits, and timekeeping information.
  • Review payroll data, timesheets, work records, and wage calculations to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate employee payments.
  • Process regular payrolls, terminations, off-cycle payrolls, adjustments, and final payments according to company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Manage payroll deductions, including federal and state taxes, benefits, retirement contributions, garnishments, levies, and other withholdings.
  • Validate employee information changes, including new hires, transfers, address updates, exemptions, resignations, and compensation updates.
  • Reconcile payroll data to general ledger accounts and monthly bank statements to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Support payroll tax processes, including federal and state tax reporting, deposits, compliance reviews, and research.
  • Conduct post-payroll audits, payroll testing, and reporting to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Respond to employee payroll questions and provide professional support regarding pay statements, deductions, and payroll processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee payroll information and ensure compliance with privacy standards.
  • Manage payroll documentation, standard operating procedures, and audit requests from internal and external teams.
  • Support year-end payroll activities, payroll projects, system updates, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Utilize payroll systems such as Oracle/PeopleSoft to enter, analyze, and maintain payroll information.
