Schedule *36hrs a week, night shift *7:00 am -7:00 pm *Alternating weekend and holiday requirement *Permanent position The Opportunity: Patient Care Associate | Inpatient Oncology - Lunder 9 Lunder 9 is a thirty-two-bed adult inpatient acute care medical oncology unit that provides Relationship Based Care. Most of the patients cared for on this unit have a diagnosis of lymphoma, multiple myeloma, sarcoma, or a solid tumor cancer. Patients are cared for throughout the cancer trajectory - from time of diagnosis, treatment and through end of life. Working under the direction of licensed personnel, assists patients with activities of daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, and eating. Also assists with taking patients' temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Performs vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs with accuracy and within established time frame and/or as requested. -Completes all documentation in the medical record as required. -Interacts with patients and their families effectively. -Helps patients with a number of basic hygiene tasks. This may include bathing and dressing patients, helping them use the toilet if needed, and feeding them. -Assist with helping patients turn and reposition themselves in bed as needed and help them move between the bed and a wheelchair if they use one. -Listens to any health concerns patients may have and report those concerns to the nurses.
