The Home & Garden business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Job Summary

The Sourcing Specialist supports business objectives by managing supplier relationships, sourcing goods and services, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and innovation. This role partners cross-functionally with Engineering, Planning, Marketing, Quality, and Customer Service to ensure supplier performance aligns with organizational needs.

Key responsibilities include supporting new product development, driving cost improvement initiatives, and enhancing existing products. The Sourcing Specialist uses data analysis, market insights, and supplier collaboration to develop and execute effective sourcing strategies.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Responsibilities (60%)



  • Manage and develop supplier relationships to drive performance, quality, and innovation
  • Oversee category spend exceeding $15M and identify cost optimization opportunities
  • Lead supplier selection processes, contract negotiations, and pricing strategies
  • Support new product development by ensuring supplier readiness and adherence to timelines
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to enhance capabilities and competitiveness
  • Deliver annual cost savings targets (e.g., 3% year-over-year reduction)


Tactical Responsibilities (40%)



  • Maintain supplier and pricing data within ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Process price updates, new item setup, source list management, and supplier master data
  • Partner with Accounts Payable and suppliers to resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Coordinate payments and support working capital objectives, including payment term improvements
  • Track and manage contract renewals and expiration timelines
  • Collaborate with Quality to address supplier non-conformance and performance issues
  • Support sourcing events, including RFQs and RFIs
  • Partner with Planning to ensure supply continuity and production requirements are met
  • Maintain sourcing documentation, reporting, and internal systems (e.g., SharePoint, supplier databases)
  • Prepare reports, analyses, and presentations for leadership review
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field required
    (or Associate's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain
  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) preferred
  • Role not eligible for sponsorship

Work Environment

This is a hybrid work schedule which includes working from home on Monday and Friday and working on-site in our Earth City Corporate Office Tuesday through Thursday.

Up to 10% travel required for supplier visits, relationship management, and sourcing initiatives

Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
