Summary:
Working closely with the Director and Manager, the Sterile Processing Supervisor manages the Sterile Processing workflow and Technicians. This position is responsible for planning day to day and future needs of this population. The Supervisor collaborates closely with Operating Room, Materials Management, and other hospital departments to meet the needs of the Central Services Department.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: High School education preferred. Associate Degree preferred.
  2. License/Certifications: Requires CSD Technician Certification.
  3. Experience: Prior leadership experience on a progressive level of 2-5 yrs. required.
  4. Interpersonal skills necessary for effective leadership of assigned personnel and in order to collaborate with a variety of personnel throughout the hospital to meet the needs of the department.
  5. Highly independent functioning with the analytical ability to prepare work schedules, prioritize work assignments, maintain a variety of records and assist in the development of department policies, procedures, budgets.
  6. High level of problem solving and decision making skills.
  7. Ability to utilize department and hospital wide computer software programs.
  8. Must be able to rotate off shifts for supervision of off shift staff at intervals.
