Job Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine has an opening for a part-time (0.25 FTE) faculty position. The Trauma Assessment and Treatment Services for Kids (TASK) Clinic, within the START center, is a multidisciplinary clinic providing comprehensive, trauma-sensitive assessment services for children who have experienced chronic maltreatment and present with complex symptoms and behaviors. The TASK Clinic currently seeks a part-time neuropsychologist to complete comprehensive pediatric neuropsychological evaluations.

The TASK clinic is a collaboration between the Kempe Center for the prevention of child abuse and the Department of Psychiatry's Stress, Trauma, Adversity Research and Treatment Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trauma-sensitive, culturally responsive neuropsychological assessments of children and caregivers

  • Work collaboratively with caregivers, family networks, and treatment providers to promote trauma-sensitive, culturally responsive treatment

  • Administer, score, interpret psycho-diagnostic, intellectual, and neuropsychological assessment measures

  • Select tests and measures to include in neuropsychological batteries that are developmentally and culturally appropriate for patient population

  • Develop assessment reports that consider and incorporate the impacts of chronic forms of childhood neglect and maltreatment and are culturally relevant

  • Take active steps in test administration and report writing that addresses and reduces the impacts of cultural bias

  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to deliver report results and treatment recommendations

  • Work across systems of care to promote comprehensive treatment of children, including collaboration with medical, educational, and child welfare professionals.

  • Other duties as assigned

Please note, this is an open rank position and could be categorized as Adjoint Instructor, Adjoint Senior Instructor, Adjoint Assistant Professor, Adjoint Associate Professor or Adjoint Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below.

Rank at the time of appointment will be based on the candidate's demonstrated contributions and experience in teaching, clinical, research, and/or service to the field. Adjoint Instructor:

  • 1-3 years of psychology experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD or PsyD in psychology

Adjoint Senior Instructor:

  • 1-3 years of psychology experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD or PsyD in psychology

Adjoint Assistant Professor:

  • 1-3 years of psychology experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD or PsyD in psychology

Adjoint Associate Professor:

  • 1-3 years of psychology experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD or PsyD in psychology

Adjoint Professor:

  • 1-3 years of psychology experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: PhD or PsyD in psychology

Preferred Qualifications (applicable for all ranks):

  • Experience in the supervision of neuropsychologists in training.
  • Experience working in Child neuropsychology practice, either private or academics.
  • Experience in providing multiple types of neuropsychological care (e.g., beyond comprehensive exams).
  • Completion of an APA approved internship and ABCN approved postdoctoral program in Pediatric Neuropsychology

  • Bilingual practitioner with capacity to conduct assessments in English and Spanish

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE (based on 0.25 FTE):
PhD and/or PsyD

Adjoint Instructor: $27,500 - $33,750

Adjoint Senior Instructor: $27,500 - $33,750

Adjoint Assistant Professor: $27,500 - $33,750

Adjoint Associate Professor: $35,000 - $43,750

Adjoint Professor: $45,000 - $60,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
