The Department of Psychiatry (DOP) at the University of Colorado School of Medicine (CU), the Division of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (DCAMH), and the Pediatric Mental Health Institute (PMHI) of Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) has an opening for a full-time faculty position: Inpatient Psychiatric (IPU) Services Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist within the PMHI Section of Hospital-Based Intensive Services, CHCO.

Job Summary:

The CU DCAMH, PMHI, and CHCO are combining to transform children's mental health care in Colorado, building a coordinated system, grounded in collaboration and partnership, that provides all children with high-quality, evidence-based, youth- and family-centered care through an ambitious and comprehensive strategic plan. As part of this transformative work, we are seeking a full-time psychiatric provider (Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Advanced Practice Provider) to join our efforts who has a vision towards advancing clinical care, research, and education to further the mission of the PMHI Hospital-Based Intensive Section as a national leader in child mental health services.

Preferred is an individual with demonstrated clinical experience within psychiatric inpatient and/or higher lever care clinical settings, as well as experience working within a high-functioning, interdisciplinary, academic pediatric mental health program and team. In addition, preferred in an individual with demonstrated experience in supervision and training of various levels of learners.

Ideal candidates should have a strong clinical practice background, involvement in training, and a record of merit within clinical, educational, and scholarship domains. A successful candidate must have demonstrated excellence in working with faculty, trainees, and administration from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds.

  • Provide direct clinical care to patients and families seen on IPU Services

Other Responsibilities/All Faculty Requirements

  • Contribute to the DOP teaching and scholarship in ways consistent with the expectations of CU faculty, advancing the standing of the Department
  • Support the fiscal and operational goals of the Section and PMHI.
  • Engage in service to the department, hospital, and local/regional/national organizations
  • Maintain eligibility for CU SOM faculty appointment
  • Provide career development and mentorship to faculty members

Work Location: This role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor:

  • 1-3 years of relevant clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: M.D. or D.O.

  • Child And Adolescent Psychiatry applicants must have a Colorado Medical License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.

  • Applicants must have completed a GME accredited General Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, or equivalent.

  • Currently maintain or be board-eligible in both ABPN General and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Associate Professor:

  • 4-7 years of relevant clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: M.D. or D.O.

  • Child And Adolescent Psychiatry applicants must have a Colorado Medical License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.

  • Applicants must have completed a GME accredited General Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, or equivalent.

  • Currently maintain or be board-eligible in both ABPN General and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Professor:

  • 7+ years of relevant clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum degree qualifications: M.D. or D.O.

  • Child And Adolescent Psychiatry applicants must have a Colorado Medical License or be eligible for licensure within the state of Colorado.

  • Applicants must have completed a GME accredited General Psychiatry Residency and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship, or equivalent.

  • Currently maintain or be board-eligible in both ABPN General and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $228,000 - $245,000

Associate Professor: $265,000 - $300,000

Professor: $300,000 - $320,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
