Job Summary: The Director, Tax Operations supports execution of key operational programs and strategic initiatives across the Tax practice, ensuring alignment between strategy and execution while also taking firm standards into consideration. This role partners with Tax leadership to translate priorities into actionable plans, coordinate across teams, and strengthen execution discipline in alignment with both Tax objectives and broader firm expectations. The Director improves operational effectiveness by supporting governance routines, enhancing performance visibility, and helping remove barriers to execution, while working with firm functions to drive consistency and efficiency across Tax. Job Duties: Strategy Execution & Coordination
- Supports translation of Tax and firm strategy into actionable operating plans
- Drives clarity on priorities, timelines, and ownership across initiatives
- Coordinates execution across pillars, pods, and key stakeholders
Program & Initiative Support
- Supports delivery of strategic initiatives and operational programs
- Tracks progress, risks, and dependencies and escalate as needed
- Helps ensure initiatives are aligned, sequenced, and moving forward effectively
Leadership Support & Enablement
- Partners with Tax leadership to support agendas, meetings, and operating cadence
- Assists in preparing communications, materials, and updates for leadership forums
- Provides insights and recommendations to support decision-making
Operating Model & Governance
- Supports execution of governance routines, reporting, and tracking mechanisms
- Helps maintain consistency in how initiatives are managed and reported
- Contributes to continuous improvement of processes, tools, and execution standards
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinates with Finance, People & Culture, IT, and other firm functions
- Helps ensure alignment and follow-through across interdependent workstreams
- Supports integration of operational activities across teams
- Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages and develops Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates as assigned
- Serves as a Career Advisor and support team development
- Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight on assigned workstreams
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Education:
- Bachelor's degree required with a focus in Accounting or Finance preferred or Associate's degree, High School Diploma, or GED with eight (8) or more years of experience in an operations role required, preferably within a public accounting firm
Experience:
- Eight (8) or more years of progressive experience in public accounting, professional services, consulting, or a similarly complex matrixed environment, required
- Significant experience leading business operations, practice operations, or enterprise transformation initiatives at scale, preferred
- Proven success leading large, cross-functional programs from strategy through implementation, including governance, stakeholder alignment, and change execution, preferred
- Experience advising senior leaders and influencing decisions in a highly collaborative, executive-facing environment, preferred
- Experience establishing operating rhythms, performance metrics, and management routines to improve execution discipline and business results, preferred
- Demonstrated financial and operational acumen, including experience with budgeting, resource planning, and performance management, preferred
License/Certifications:
- CPA, preferred
- PMP, preferred
Software:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required
- Experience using collaboration, reporting, and project management tools to support execution and performance visibility, preferred

- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, develop talent, and work effectively both independently and through others
Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. National Range: $195,000 - $230,000 Maryland Range: $195,000 - $230,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $195,000 - $230,000
