Schedule: 40 hours 1.Examines and evaluates patient's physical therapy needs. In collaboration with the patient and/or caregiver, formulates a physical therapy diagnosis, and develops a treatment plan with treatment goals directed towards maximizing function. 2.Demonstrates competency in all clinical knowledge and skills specific to the patient case type(s) in assigned area of care. 3.Consults with other members of the health care team to insure coordination and effectiveness of therapies provided. 4.Assists in implementation of triaging, prioritizing, monitoring admissions, referrals, and discharges to and from the service as assigned. 5.Manages patient caseload assigned. 6.Participates in activities that directed towards increasing knowledge and skill and professional development. 7.Participates in departmental meetings, which help to formulate policies, procedures and program development. 8.Supervises aides and other support personnel as appropriate. 9.Supervises students and other individuals seeking educational experiences related to physical therapy. 10.Performs other duties as assigned. Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program is required. For licensure prior to 2016, a bachelor's or master's degree is acceptable; licensure from 2016 onward requires completion of a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes Essential Functions -Completes billing sheet accurately by end of day. -Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. -Performs patient assessment and establishes a plan of care. -Provides in-service education programs for nursing personnel as needed. -Identifies and documents goals, anticipated progress, and plans for reevaluation. -Discusses evaluation, goals and treatment with both patient and family. -Participates in Hospital-wide quality process improvement. -Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. -Supervises PTAs according to organization policy and state regulations. Education Bachelor's Degree Physical Therapy required or Master's Degree Physical Therapy preferred or Doctor of Physical Therapy Physical Therapy preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Physical Therapist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Experience Experience completing internship or apprenticeship program 1-2 years preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of medical terminology. - Excellent organizational skills. - Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems. - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. - Teaching others how to do something. - Excellent problem solving, case management and communication skills. - Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
