What to Expect The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, Stamping Tooling, leads design, development and optimzation of precision stamping dies and tooling for next-generation electric motor manufacturing. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams-including design engineering, automation engineering, tooling suppliers, quality, process, and operations-to design, build and deploy progressive stamping dies with extreme precision requirements. The successful candidate will have extensive theoretical and hands-on experiences in all facets of high-volume electric motor stamping, driving tool lifecycles from concept to production including root-cause analysis and continuous process improvements. What You'll Do Tooling Design & Lifecycle: Spearhead the CAD design and development of custom, high-precision stator dies, focusing on material utilization, interlocking features, and high-speed stamping operations Design for Manufacturability (DFM): Collaborate with product design engineers and manufacturing teams to ensure stator geometries can be efficiently and cost-effectively stamped without compromising magnetic or mechanical performance Simulation & Analysis: Utilize simulation software to conduct flow, thermal, and stress analysis to optimize die design, minimize tooling wear, and improve stamping quality Continuous Improvement: Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) on tooling failures, stamping defects, or production inefficiencies, implementing corrective actions to maximize uptime and die life Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior tool and die engineers and production technicians.
