Position: Distribution Material Handler
Pay: $22.50 hr (.25 shift differential)
Schedule: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, with possible overtime
HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE...
As a Distribution Material Handler, you will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of warehouse operations. You will help ensure products and point-of-sale (POS) materials are received, stored, picked, loaded, and distributed safely and accurately while supporting inventory integrity, customer fulfillment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
WHAT YOU WILL DO...
- Accurately load and unload trailers containing palletized and non-palletized products and POS materials using manual and powered material handling equipment.
- Sort and place products and materials on racks, shelves, and designated warehouse locations.
- Pick, assemble, palletize, and stretch-wrap customer orders for shipment.
- Label incoming products with identifying information, including date codes, product descriptions, product codes, and case counts.
- Label outgoing shipments with route numbers, bin locations, and pallet counts.
- Verify quantities of products and POS materials received.
- Utilize RF scanning and voice-picking technology according to company operating procedures.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport products throughout the warehouse.
- Prepare and organize warehouse areas for cycle counts, inventory activities, and order fulfillment.
- Complete daily power equipment inspections and maintenance checklists and report any defective equipment.
- Follow all safety, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping procedures.
- Maintain clean work areas by removing trash and storing supplies in designated locations.
- Keep aisleways, exits, and workspaces free from obstructions.
- Follow safe lifting and carrying procedures for products of varying sizes, shapes, and weights.
- Report workplace injuries, property damage, and equipment concerns promptly.
- Support and participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 5S (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
- Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE... (MUST HAVE)
- High School Diploma or GED and/or one year of related experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment while maintaining accuracy and safety.
- Ability to safely operate or learn powered material handling equipment.
- Experience using or willingness to learn RF scanners and voice-directed picking systems.
- Strong attention to detail and inventory accuracy.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Commitment to workplace safety, food safety, hygiene, and housekeeping standards.
- Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach throughout the shift.
- Ability to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move more than 100 pounds.
- Ability to work overtime as business demands require.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE... (NICE TO HAVE)
- Previous warehouse, distribution, shipping, receiving, or material handling experience.
- Forklift or powered industrial equipment operating experience.
- Experience with RF scanning systems, voice-picking technology, or warehouse management systems.
- Knowledge of inventory control, cycle counting, and order fulfillment processes.
- Experience participating in Continuous Improvement or 5S programs.
- Experience working in food manufacturing, consumer products, or high-volume distribution environments.
Work Environment:
This position regularly works around moving mechanical equipment and may occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions, airborne particles, chemicals, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels are generally moderate. Employees should be comfortable working in a warehouse environment that requires physical activity, safe material handling practices, and adherence to food safety and housekeeping standards. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
