Entry-Level Payroll Clerk - Corporate Office - Woodstock, Georgia

Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized Entry-Level Payroll Clerk to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will assist with day-to-day payroll processing operations, verify time-tracking data, and manage administrative records. Because this is an entry-level position, we provide hands-on training for our specific internal workflows and software platforms. The ideal candidate is someone who loves working with numbers, values data privacy, and thrives in a deadline-driven environment.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Data Entry: Input employee hours, wages, tax withholdings, and bank information into the payroll database (ADP Workforce Now).
  • Timecard Verification: Review and cross-reference employee timesheets to identify and reconcile missing or conflicting data.
  • System Updates: Log new hire information, status updates, promotions, and termination paperwork.
  • Employee Assistance: Respond politely and promptly to routine internal questions regarding paychecks, taxes, and direct deposit setups.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain electronic payroll files securely while adhering strictly to company confidentiality rules.
  • Basic Reporting: Run standard system reports to assist accounting teams during monthly reconciliation or audit prep.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate equivalent.
  • Technical Savvy: Basic data entry skills and foundational comfort with the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Mathematical Ability: Strong basic math capabilities to check calculations for accuracy.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of precision required to identify tiny data typos or missing time punches.
  • Discretion: Absolute commitment to protecting employee privacy and handling sensitive data professionally.
  • Communication: Clear, friendly written and verbal skills for explaining policy details to internal staff.

Preferred (But Not Required) Qualifications:
  • Education: An Associate degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • Prior Experience: 6 months to 1 year of general office administration, data entry, or customer service experience.
  • Software Knowledge: Exposure to specialized accounting or payroll tools like ADP, Paychex, or QuickBooks.

A background check and drug screen will be conducted for this position.
