Position summary:

Utility Systems Analysts support workload and service order management distribution, enterprise asset management, and enterprise work management systems, partnering across natural gas and electrical utilities and generation teams. Utility Systems Analysts demonstrate knowledge across utility systems and processes relating to customer service, field service, engineering, work management, GIS asset mapping, line locating, and outage management. As a liaison, the Utility System Analyst partners between Information Technology teams and business stakeholders ensuring the success of strategic initiatives and support of daily operations. The Utility System Analyst presents or showcases system functionality through demonstrations to end-users, leadership, and cross-functional teams.

Pay Range: This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
Level I: $66,950 - $100,500
Level II: $79,400 - $119,100
Senior: $93,150 - $139,900

Reporting Relationship: Supervisor, IT Applications

Location: Fayetteville, Arkansas; Lincoln, Nebraska or Rapid City, South Dakota

Essential Functions:
* Provide tier two level support to end users on business processes using utility systems applications. Work with support groups to call out intermediate or complex issues and improve system capabilities.
* Advocate end-user-experience by partnering with multiple business units and workstream leads to evaluate and communicate business processes and systems improvements that advance end-user functionality, safety, customer experience and/or growth.
* Elicit system requirements through support activities, using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process reviews and business analysis.
* Document use-cases, work/systems process flow diagrams, data mapping requirements, value add propositions, user test cases, and timeline requirements.
* Manage simple and assist with intermediate project business case development and benefits realization measurements in the areas of efficiency, timelines, and cost reduction.
* Manage simple system changes through the lifecycle of change from ideation to completion, including system design, build, test, training/communication, and support.
* Assist with intermediate project timelines and tasks applying agile methodologies.
* Manage simple and assist with intermediate project closing documentation to include operating procedures, testing results, key metrics, and reporting expectations.
* Assist with process and system change request intake and impact analysis, documentation, and prioritization requirements.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Perform regular job-shadowing with system end-users and remain current on operations and business processes and utility system capabilities.
* Remain current on project management and business analyst trends seeking additional training when available.
* On call rotation for systems support. Ability to travel as the need arises.

What Is Required:
All Levels:
* This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards.
* This role will be required to travel up to 25% of the time.
Level I:
* Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
* No experience required. Training provided.
Level II:
* Bachelor's Degree Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Minimum of 3 years of field operations, utility or operational systems (e.g., workload and service order management distribution, enterprise asset management, enterprise work management), project management or other relevant experience.
Senior:
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Minimum of 5 years of field operations, utility or operational systems (e.g., workload and service order management distribution, enterprise asset management, enterprise work management), project management or other relevant experience.

What Is Desired:
* Strong communication skills and the ability to lead meetings with cross-functional business and IT teams, translating and simplifying technology requirements to broad audiences in written and verbal formats. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to plan, prioritize, and handle risks associate with projects and processes, using system implementation, testing, and database tools.
* Negotiation skills with the ability to manage conflict and work toward common processes.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare and give presentations and trainings to diverse audiences.
* Experience working with metric reporting data, key performance indicators, analyzing trends, and continuous improvement activities.
* Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a timely manner with minimal direction. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
* Ability to think and act independently and develop creative, analytical solutions to resolve complex problems.
* Ability to conduct cost/benefit analysis and build business cases and ability to gather, review, analyze and hypothesis data trends.
* Understanding of system configurations to include flow configurations, object management, relevance group management. Understanding of mobile technology trends and applications.
