Job Description
The Warehouse Group Leader works closely with the supervisor to oversee all the warehouse functions ensuring that workers are on task and that all safety precautions have been taken. This position reports to Warehouse Supervisor. In the absence of the Warehouse Supervisor, this position oversees warehouse functions and associates on the shift.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Monitors the accountability of the warehouse workers, changing orders as necessary to ensure that all tasks are completed.
  • Coordinates the daily trailer lineup with the switcher to ensure efficient switch-out and loading, based on the daily appointment lineup.
  • Coordinates with the shipping clerk to have trailers and product sent from downstairs to upstairs, in order to successfully fulfill customer orders
  • Makes BOL (s), etc. as needed when clerks are out or not available.
  • Leads, motivates and develops warehouse associates.
  • Determines the trailers that need to be loaded, and in what sequence, based on arrival time and due date.
  • Examines orders to ensure product accuracy, making sure the load is being loaded on the correct trailer.
  • Coordinates products moving to and from the warehouse basement. Checks on the needs of the basement warehouse and the associates assigned there.
  • Ensures that the conveyor belt and elevator are neatly maintained, along with the remainder of the warehouse
  • Oversees the unloading and loading of trucks.
  • Conducts cycle counts to assist in maintaining inventory accuracy.
  • Trains new warehouse employees and retrains current employees on new skill set requirements.
  • Acts as back up for associates who are absent, performing order selecting and material handling duties if necessary.
  • Coordinates with the inventory staff to correct and monitor inventory variances.
  • Ensures that all bills are turned in and all LTL loads are sealed and closed at the end of the day.
  • Fills in for the supervisor on an as-needed basis, assisting in the resolution of operational issues.
  • Completes other duties as assigned by management.

Qualification

  • High School or GED
  • 2+ years shipping experience
  • Order Selecting and Material Handling experience
  • Certified to utilize a cherry picker, forklift, and pallet jack
  • RF unit experience
  • Experience in training employees
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to lead and motivate employees
  • Proven ability for time management
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
