Department of SOM Human Resources Job Description
Why This Role Matters The School of Medicine HR team is in motion. We are building a leaner, more capable, and more strategic HR function, one where every role on the team operates at a higher level and contributes directly to the experience of faculty, staff, and the departments we serve. In this role as a HR Specialist II, you will be the operational conduit of the team. This role owns the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of core HR processes - from employee lifecycle transactions and onboarding to badging, courtesy appointment oversight, and backup support for and coverage to ensure high quality service delivery. We are looking for someone who executes the current work with precision and discipline, and who is curious, improvement-minded, and ready to grow into a process-shaping role as the team evolves. Position Overview Reporting to the Associate Human Resources Director, you will provide high-quality transactional and operational HR support across School of medicine. This position is the primary processor of employee lifecycle activity and provides oversight for SOM badging and courtesy appointments. You will exercise independent judgment on recurring and atypical situations, recommends solutions to complex cases, and collaborates closely with HR Partners, recruiters, and the Visa Specialist to ensure seamless, consistent service delivery across the team. An associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary Anticipated Hiring Range
