Are you a customer service professional who enjoys helping others and thrives in a fast-paced environment? We are seeking a Patient Services Representative (PSR) to serve as the first point of contact for our patients and visitors. In this important role, you'll help create a welcoming, organized, and efficient experience from the moment patients walk through our doors.

What You'll Do Patient Reception & Customer Service
  • Greet patients and visitors with professionalism, courtesy, and a welcoming attitude.

  • Verify patient information and ensure accurate registration.

  • Deliver a positive, patient-focused experience at every interaction.

  • Address questions and concerns with empathy and professionalism.

Front Desk & Administrative Support
  • Perform patient check-in, check-out, and appointment scheduling activities.

  • Answer incoming calls and assist patients with scheduling and inquiries.

  • Create and maintain Epic patient charts.

  • Process mail, scanning, faxing, copying, and other clerical duties.

  • Manage RightFax and support document processing workflows.

  • Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and patient documentation.

Financial & Office Operations
  • Balance and reconcile daily cash drawer transactions.

  • Maintain accurate cash handling records.

  • Assist with front office workflows to support efficient clinic operations.

  • Support implementation of EPIC updates and workflow improvements.

Team Collaboration & Compliance
  • Participate in department meetings and review communications in a timely manner.

  • Suggest process improvements that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

  • Maintain confidentiality and protect patient privacy at all times.

  • Follow all Mercy safety guidelines and incident reporting procedures.

  • Ensure reception and waiting areas remain clean, safe, and welcoming.

  • Support infection control and workplace safety standards.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Training

Ability to attend and successfully complete Clinic Core Front Desk Training following hire

Skills & Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications Experience

One year of medical office, healthcare, or related customer service experience preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday

  • Ability to reach, grip, bend, kneel, squat, and twist while performing job duties
