MTSI is seeking an Enterprise Cloud Architect to design and build scalable software development and test environments supporting multiple highprofile acquisition efforts. This role has broad responsibility and will focus heavily on transitioning onpremises workloads into one or more hyperscale cloud environments.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with multiple organizations with varying requirements to develop cloud architecture and strategy.
  • Understand strategic needs and maintain implementation plans aligned to customer requirements.
  • Advise leadership on the technical feasibility of network and cloud plans; advocate for recommendations to mature environment offerings.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and provide substantiated recommendations for improvement.
  • Identify optimal cloud solutions to meet the organization's longterm architecture goals.
  • Regularly assess existing cloud infrastructure to identify risks or opportunities for enhancement.
  • Assess legacy mission systems to determine suitability for cloud transition.
  • Develop crossdomain solutions enabling secure transfer of unclassified software/data into classified environments.
  • Support CI/CT/CD processes in hybrid cloud environments.
  • Prototype and troubleshoot complex systems spanning onpremises and cloud environments.
  • Provide guidance on bulk application migration and servicemovement strategies.
  • Work within an agile team, crossing functional boundaries and mentoring others in cloud technologies.
  • Support preparation and submission of accreditation packages to obtain an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Promote best practices for IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud approaches.
  • Document engineering standards, proposals, and recommendations related to cloud infrastructure and configuration management.
  • Prepare and present detailed roadmaps for transitioning to the endstate cloud architecture; estimate cloud TCO and ROI.
  • Assist in developing organizational processes and structures for cloud adoption and longterm management.
  • Support consolidation of disparate services into a unified, maintainable offering.
  • Help develop and train client personnel in cloud adoption and asset management.
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in DevOps, Security Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Excellent communication skills, including briefing technical recommendations to leadership and working in environments with evolving requirements.
  • High proficiency in modern cloud providers, especially Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Strong experience with agile methodologies, source control, and CI/CD.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef) and containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Podman).
  • Programming experience in one or more generalpurpose languages (C++, Rust, Python).
  • Understanding of public cloud networking concepts.
  • Experience deploying complex and scalable cloud applications.
  • Must have an active U.S. TS clearance.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with DoD classified development networks.
Required Education:
  • BS in a technical field (preferably Computer Science or Electrical Engineering).
Required Experience:
  • 12+ years in software development, infrastructure design, or DevOps.
Preferred Experience:
  • 12+ years in software development within a classified environment.
