Salary: The budgeted base salary range is $125,901 - 158,823 commensurate with qualifications and experience, and aligned with internal equity.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited PA program with Masters of Doctoral Degree in Medical Science.
  • Current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
  • Current PALS or APLS required
  • Current controlled substance licensure required.
  • Current National Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Effective communication skills (oral and written) that facilitate therapeutic relationships between physician, and PA providers as well as college and hospital leadership and the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, multidisciplinary collaboration, interpersonal communication, education, clinical experience and change management required.
  • Documentation in the medical record to substantiate accurate billing.

Preferred Qualifications

Having PA experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care settings is preferred.

All physician assistants caring for children in the emergency department and fast track/urgent care area shall have documentation of a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education in pediatric emergency topics every two years that are approved by an accrediting agency preferred
