Job Summary:
M1 is looking for a Senior Wheel and Tire Mechanic who will diagnose and correct malfunctions related to wheel and tire
assemblies and support equipment systems.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
* Inspects, operates, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies (TCTO's) wheel and tire assemblies
and support equipment as required.
* Required to obtain Red X certifications for the inspection of scheduled and
unscheduled maintenance and inspections.
* Repairs, reworks, and replaces components of wheel and tire assemblies and
support equipment systems to ensure proper system operation as required.
* Operates assigned support equipment as required.
* Records all inspection/maintenance actions using AFTO forms, computer terminals or
other means as required.
* Independently plans sequence of tasks, selects appropriate tools and equipment and
refers to work card and technical publications to determine specifications to be met.
* Maintains shop equipment as required.
* Complies with all company, OSHA, AFOSH and customer safety requirements.
* Advises the Aircraft Lead on the need for schedule changes, budget requirements,
supply problems and other factors affecting mission and customer support.
* Complies with all SAFB and EPA environmental requirements.
* Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
* High school diploma or GED, plus military or commercial training in related discipline.
* Requires eight (8) years' experience in aircraft wheel and tire maintenance or a related aircraft
discipline with four (4) years' supervisory experience. The last 12 months must be within the
Aircraft/Aircraft Trainer Maintenance
* Experienced in jacking aircraft as required for wheel and tire maintenance.
* Knowledge of the Air Force Supply System, IMDS, Fedlog and Precision Measurement Equipment to
include torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers.
* Must be able to read, understand and interpret detailed technical publications and instructions. Must
have the ability to deal courteously, professionally and effectively with the customer.
* Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
* Must be able to obtain/maintain a security clearance.
* Current valid U.S. Driver's License.

* Environment ranges from office-like to hangar and flight line. Extensive sitting to climbing, standing, stooping,
bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, and walking demands.
