Salary range:
This is a without salary (WOS) position. The visitor will receive a cost-of-living allowance of $10,000, calculated at $1,000 per week for 10 weeks, to be disbursed monthly in arrears. UC Irvine's Center for Psychology and law serves as a hub for research that connects the fields of psychology and law. Its mission is to foster collaboration among academics, legal professionals, policymakers, and the public to address real-world issues where social sciences intersect with legal systems. The center aims to translate scientific evidence into public policy and practice, enhancing the understanding of psychological principles in legal contexts. A Visiting Scholar appointment is designed for independent researchers who are on leave from an academic position or other professional employment to conduct collaborative or independent research at UC Irvine. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria: * Employment Status: Per University of California policy, you must be actively employed or hold an academic position elsewhere and be on official leave during your visit. * Location: All research activities must be conducted in person on the UC Irvine campus. Remote appointments are not permitted. * Duration: Appointment will be for winter quarter 2027 (01/04/2027 - 03/12/2027). * Cost-of-living allowance: The visitor will receive a cost-of-living allowance of $10,000, calculated at $1,000 per week for 10 weeks, to be disbursed monthly in arrears. * Housing: Furnished apartments may be available (depending on vacancies) on campus for the visiting scholar. Furnished Apartment Rates & Eligibility - Irvine Campus Housing Authority * UC System Restriction: Current UC faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars, and students (across all UC campuses) are ineligible for this title due to existing UC reciprocity agreements. Additionally, Visiting Scholars cannot hold concurrent UC employment or paid appointments (such as a Lecturer position to teach a course) during their visit.
