Merchandise Planner - Retail & eCommerce


About the Role

We are seeking a data-driven Merchandise Planner to support growth across digital and store channels in an international retail environment. This role is responsible for driving sales and profitability through effective planning, forecasting, and inventory management. You'll work cross-functionally with merchandising, digital, and supply chain partners to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time.


What You'll Do

Merchandise Planning & Analysis



  • Build and manage sales and inventory plans for digital and/or store channels
  • Analyze business performance to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Develop assortment strategies and tiering recommendations to maximize growth
  • Support product launches, assortment planning, and pricing/markdown strategies
  • Contribute to monthly and seasonal planning processes with actionable insights
  • Ensure accuracy of product data, launch timing, and assortment attributes across systems


Inventory Management



  • Monitor and manage inventory levels across distribution centers and channels
  • Track inbound receipts and adjust plans to maintain optimal stock levels
  • Optimize inventory flow to minimize markdowns and maximize sell-through
  • Partner with allocation, forecasting, and logistics teams on stock balancing and deployment strategies
  • Provide volume projections and inventory insights to support operational planning


Cross-Functional Collaboration



  • Partner closely with merchandising, digital, and supply chain teams to align on business goals
  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Support ad hoc analysis and reporting needs across the organization


What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory planning, demand forecasting, or retail analytics
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into clear business recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data modeling)
  • Experience managing sales forecasts, inventory levels, and in-season adjustments
  • Understanding of key retail KPIs such as sell-through, weeks of supply, inventory turns, and margin
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills


Nice to Have

  • Experience in eCommerce or omnichannel retail
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Background in apparel, fashion, or consumer retail
  • Exposure to international markets or global business operations
  • Experience with allocation, deployment, or supply chain planning
