The Program Manager is responsible for the management of customer products or programs for all program life cycle stages (new production introduction, initial production and ramp up, full rate production, and end of life).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as the focal point for customer interface and establishes relationships with key decision makers at multiple levels/positions within customer organization
- Plays an important role in determining the Company's competitive posture on current and future business which has a direct effect on the Company's short and long range financial performance
- Responsible for new business capture of existing customers, risk assessments, request for proposals, change management, data management and customer communication while adhering to contract requirements, maintaining schedule, cost control, and quality objectives
- Ensures Customer program objectives are met; product performance, cost, and schedule to assure customer satisfaction
- Establishes the program objectives for all programs and the key program team actions needed to meet these objectives; directs, coordinates and manages execution of all program objectives
- Assesses contractual risk, manages the assessment of overall risk, prepares risk mitigation plans to reduce or eliminate risk; works with Contracts Management to ensure contract modifications are implemented to mitigate risk
- Accountable for the program's financial status as well as managing Program changes that meet the schedule/technical needs of the customer as well as ensuring Company cost recovery
- Leads business process to ensure appropriate equitable adjustments are submitted in a timely manner and works with Contracts to ensure claims are realized
- Establishes high-level customer contacts in order to monitor customer satisfaction with performance
- Leads internal kickoff reviews to communicate contract requirements to appropriate team members
- Proficient in Company business systems including but not limited to; all business tools within function, all interdepartmental business process that interface into function (upstream and downstream); active leader to improve business processes and increase competitiveness of Company.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated effective program management experience, including technical experience in managing complex programs, in a high tech manufacturing environment
- Change management and program risk mitigation skills
- Experience and understanding of business system operating procedures, financial requirements, and contracts management
- Experience leading multi-functional teams to meet program objectives
- Strong computer skills (Proficient with MS Office Suite)
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and team building skills
- Inter, intra-department and external contact required
- Possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government granted security clearance
- Some travel on an as needed basis
- PMP certification (preferred)
