Description

Our Senior Capital Project Engineer is responsible for managing engineering and facilities projects, including theinstallation of mechanical and electrical equipment, manufacturing systems, and processes that support the needs of Liberty Diversified International (LDI). This role will collaborate on assigned projects, operational excellence, and other assignments as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to be a part of a high-growth company with an entrepreneurial spirit and a fast-paced, results-oriented culture.

This full-time position will report directly to the Director of Engineering and is located at LDI's corporate headquarters in New Hope, Minnesota.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure a safe work environment and environmental stewardship remain top priorities.
  • Conduct thorough hazard analysis for all projects before their commencement and ensure that safety remains a top priority throughout each project.
  • Serve as project manager or team member for the installation of capital equipment, document existing plants, specify needed equipment, and oversee onsite installations.
  • Ensure that manufacturing systems comply with relevant industry and business standards.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives by leading and participating in improvement teams.
  • Utilize specialized software to create new models and drawings of buildings, equipment, plant layouts, utilities, etc.
  • Research new manufacturing methods and equipment to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Organize and maintain current engineering records.
  • Create layout drawings and collaborate with the manufacturing team to confirm designs.
  • Learn JD Edwards or a similar system, focusing on work orders, preventive maintenance, inventory management, bills of materials, and spare parts, and assist the plants as needed.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager as directed.
  • Travel to various LDI locations as needed (approximately 30% of the time).
  • Other duties, as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five (5) years of related experience, such as mechanical design, capital planning, process engineering, and/or manufacturing.
  • Possess a high level of technical expertise, continuously applying skills to improve processes while maintaining maximum safety standards.
  • Knowledgeable about operational safety requirements in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to apply and adhere to procedures as mandated by regulatory bodies.
  • Expert in creating drawings and layouts using relevant CAD software.
  • Self-directed and adept at managing time effectively to complete assignments on time.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including those over whom there is no direct authority.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Master's degree in engineering or a related technical field.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base salary range for this position is $101,460 - $126,825 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below the posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
