Overview
Join Microsoft Devices Operations (MDO) and help shape the physical products millions use every day. The Strategic Sourcing team in Redmond, WA sits at the intersection of design, engineering, manufacturing, and supplier strategy-turning bold ideas into scalable, high-quality hardware experiences. We build resilient supply chains, unlock supplier innovation, and deliver technologies that define the look, feel, durability, and performance of our devices. As a Sourcing Engineer II on the Mechanical Sourcing team, you will lead sourcing strategy for complex mechanical components and assemblies in our Surface & Xbox products while influencing product architecture, design decisions, supplier selection, cost, quality, and manufacturability from concept through launch. This is not a transactional procurement role-it is a cross-functional, technical, strategic role where you will partner with engineering, design, operations, finance, and suppliers to solve hard problems, make smart tradeoffs, and bring innovative hardware to market. We are looking for curious, driven, collaborative builders who thrive in ambiguity, communicate clearly, and want to grow through meaningful ownership and technical depth. You will join an inclusive, growth-minded culture and work with world-class teams and suppliers to create products that matter. Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals.
