Position Overview

  • Our client is seeking an experienced People & Culture Manager to lead the Human Resources function within a manufacturing environment in Douglas, GA. This role will oversee the site's People & Culture operations, lead and develop the HR team, and serve as a strategic partner to plant and operational leadership.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong, tenured HR background within manufacturing, with demonstrated expertise in HR generalist functions, employee relations, talent development, compliance, and people leadership. This individual should be comfortable working at both a strategic and hands-on level and have experience supporting the unique needs of a manufacturing workforce.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, coach, and develop the site's People & Culture/HR team.
  • Partner closely with plant and operational leadership to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including: Employee relations, Talent acquisition, Onboarding, Training and development, Performance management, Benefits administration.
  • Coach and counsel managers and employees on employee relations, performance concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace issues.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Partner with organizational Centers of Excellence (COEs) to execute enterprise talent and HR initiatives.
  • Assess workforce capabilities and identify skill gaps and development opportunities.
  • Develop and implement employee training, talent development, and career development initiatives.
  • Support succession planning and performance management programs.
  • Lead change management initiatives supporting organizational growth, transformation, and operational improvements.
  • Manage HRIS and other HR-related systems, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and effective reporting.
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze HR metrics to identify workforce trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive initiatives focused on employee engagement, retention, culture, and overall employee experience.
  • Establish strong relationships with employees, managers, and plant leadership across the organization.
  • Manage team performance and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of HR Generalist experience within manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of management/people leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience partnering closely with plant and operations leadership.
  • Demonstrated success managing, coaching, and developing HR team members.
  • Strong employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, and coaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting talent development, succession planning, career development, and organizational change.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in both a strategic and hands-on HR capacity.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or similar professional HR certification.
  • Experience leading a People & Culture/HR function within a plant or complex manufacturing operation.
  • Experience supporting both hourly manufacturing employees and salaried leadership.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, HR reporting, workforce analytics, and HR metrics.
  • Experience leading employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives in a manufacturing setting.
