Senior Security Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Product and Enterprise Security team, based hybrid out of our Tacoma, WA office and reporting to the Security Engineering manager. Security is a revenue enabler at Infoblox: our products run inside 70% of the Fortune 500, and those customers need to trust the infrastructure behind them. In this role you will own security engineering end to end across that infrastructure, from cloud and Kubernetes environments to the network edge, identity systems, and endpoints. You will design, deploy, and harden the controls that protect Infoblox and our customers, and automate that work through infrastructure as code and security tooling so it scales across a fast-growing, multi-cloud estate. This is a newly expanded function, so you will help shape how it is built, not just operate what already exists. AI-assisted automation is a growing part of how we work, and we value engineers who use it thoughtfully while understanding what's happening under the hood.

You are the ideal candidate if you're an infrastructure-minded security engineer with deep expertise in two or three of the areas below and working knowledge of the rest. You like seeing the whole picture, enjoy turning recurring problems into automated, repeatable solutions, and can partner effectively with engineering, IT, and operations teams to raise the security bar without slowing them down.

Be a Contributor - What You'll Do

• Own the design, implementation, and hardening of security controls across our cloud, Kubernetes, network, identity, and endpoint infrastructure
• Deploy, tune, and operate cloud security and CSPM platforms such as Wiz across AWS, Azure, and GCP, and drive remediation of misconfigurations and exposures with engineering teams
• Secure the network edge by managing WAF (e.g., Fastly), DDoS protection, network segmentation, and firewall policy for internet-facing and internal services
• Advance our identity and Zero Trust strategy, including least-privilege IAM, SSO and MFA enforcement, privileged and non-human identity management, and emerging agentic AI identity patterns
• Own and manage our EDR platform (e.g., CrowdStrike) across endpoints and cloud workloads, including deployment, policy tuning, coverage, and sensor health, and partner with the SOC on the telemetry and detections they rely on
• Build and maintain security automation and guardrails as code, using Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and scripting to make secure configurations the default
• Partner with product and platform teams to secure how our products are deployed and operated, including the customer-facing cloud services our customers depend on
• Perform security architecture reviews, threat modeling, and assessments of infrastructure and product deployments, and support compliance and audit readiness efforts
• Serve as an escalation point for infrastructure security issues and support incident response when needed

Be Prepared - What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or related field; equivalent work experience will be considered
• 6+ years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud/DevOps roles, with at least 3 years focused on securing infrastructure
• Required: deep hands-on experience securing at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) using infrastructure as code (Terraform or similar) and CI/CD pipelines; multi-cloud experience is a strong plus
• Depth in two or more infrastructure security domains, such as CSPM/CNAPP, WAF and network security, IAM and Zero Trust, or EDR and endpoint security, with working knowledge across the rest; experience with tools like Wiz, Fastly, or CrowdStrike is a plus
• Kubernetes and container security experience is strongly preferred
• Solid scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, Bash, or similar, including practical use of AI/LLM tools to accelerate engineering work and the judgment to validate what they produce
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, cloud architecture, and common attack paths across infrastructure
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams and influence without direct authority
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, cloud provider security specialties, or CKS are a plus

Be Successful - Your Path

After six months, you will...

• Have taken ownership of one or more core infrastructure security domains aligned with your strengths
• Have built relationships with key stakeholders across engineering, platform, IT, and the SOC, and understand how our infrastructure and security tooling fit together
• Have delivered at least one meaningful hardening or automation improvement that measurably reduces risk or manual effort
• Have contributed to our identity and Zero Trust initiatives, including early work on securing non-human and agentic identities

After about a year, you will...

• Be the go-to SME for infrastructure security across cloud, edge, identity, and endpoint, trusted to represent Product and Enterprise Security in architecture decisions
• Be trusted to independently design and drive end-to-end security improvements across our infrastructure, from strategy through implementation
• Help shape the roadmap, standards, and practices of our expanded infrastructure security function
