Marketing Intern - Summer 2027

Job Summary

Avient is seeking summer interns to join the Corporate Marketing team. The Marketing Internship provides current undergraduate students with project opportunities within key areas of marketing and welcomes candidates who bring an engineering perspective and a curiosity about how technical thinking can be applied to business-to-business marketing.

Essential Functions

• Complete projects across key marketing functions, including marketing communications, industry marketing, digital marketing, and product management.
• Develop an understanding of Avient's businesses from a financial, operational, and strategic standpoint, serving as a foundation for future marketing roles within the organization.
• Apply technical and analytical skills to conduct market research and competitive analysis, delivering intelligence on industry trends, customers, and competitors to support management decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across business units on shared initiatives.
• Build relationships with senior management and colleagues across the globe to contribute to Avient's future success.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Currently a rising senior pursuing a BA/BS degree with emphasis in Marketing, Business Administration/Development, or related fields; candidates pursuing a degree in engineering, or a dual path combining engineering with business or marketing, are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience or interest in applied research and development, product or formulation design, or applications development and technical services (ADTS) is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required.
• Relevant internship experience is preferred.
• Problem-solving skills, with the ability to gather, synthesize, and evaluate data from multiple sources using a range of business intelligence and reporting tools.
• Curiosity about customer needs and how products fit into the market, including an interest in translating technical performance into customer value.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and take initiative on assigned projects.
• Collaborative team player with strong project coordination and organization skills.
• Clear oral and written communication skills, including the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
