Job Summary

The CDL Driver -Class B is responsible for safely transporting and delivering materials, including pipe, valves, and ductile iron fittings, using a 26-foot flatbed delivery truck and Ford F-250. This role is approximately 80% driving and 20% warehouse support, including loading and staging shipments. The driver is responsible for securing materials, completing required delivery documentation, providing professional customer service, and complying with all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and safety procedures.

Job Responsibilities



  • Deliver materials according to scheduled delivery times.
  • Operate a 26-foot flatbed delivery truck and Ford F-250 safely and responsibly.
  • Validate directions and follow established delivery routes.
  • Load, unload, and stage materials as required.
  • Ensure materials are properly secured and remain within applicable weight limits.
  • Deliver required tickets with materials and obtain customer signatures.
  • Verify that all materials have been unloaded and placed at the delivery site.
  • Verify customer signatures and print names next to signatures when necessary.
  • Pick up customer returns and verify products match the requested credit.
  • Pick up local-pickup purchase orders.
  • Secure and return applicable packing lists and delivery documentation.
  • Review completed deliveries with the supervisor for accuracy and completeness.
  • Return all delivery ticket copies to the warehouse and verify that documentation is complete.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Comply with all applicable DOT standards, regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Fuel vehicles as necessary and report vehicle problems, accidents, moving violations, and defects to the supervisor.
  • Operate sit-down forklifts to support warehouse activities.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, including loading and staging shipments.
  • Use handheld delivery tracking devices to document deliveries.
  • Operate vehicles equipped with camera monitoring systems.
  • Communicate with supervisors throughout the workday regarding deliveries and operational issues.
  • Represent the organization professionally and provide quality customer service.
  • Follow all applicable company policies, safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Support operational programs, goals, and initiatives.
  • Work overtime as needed.


Job Requirements



  • At least 1 year of experience driving the class of commercial vehicle assigned to the position.
  • At least 1 year of experience holding a CDL.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License required.
  • Required state-issued self-certification designation of non-excepted interstate status, with proof provided.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Experience operating sit-down forklifts.
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles equipped with camera monitoring systems.
  • Ability to use a handheld delivery tracking device.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely secure, load, unload, and transport materials.
  • Ability to comply with DOT regulations and applicable safety requirements.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate delivery and shipping documentation.
