Job Summary

The EHS Specialist supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of environmental, health, and safety programs to promote a safe and compliant workplace. Working under the direction of the Site EHS Representative, this role assists with safety training, workplace inspections, incident investigations, regulatory compliance activities, EHS documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This is an onsite, nonexempt position in Plymouth, MN, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours worked over 40 per week are paid at time and a half.

Job Responsibilities



  • Support site environmental, health, and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with workplace inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Participate in incident investigations and track corrective actions through completion.
  • Maintain EHS records, training documentation, standard operating procedures, and forms.
  • Support employee EHS training and compliance activities.
  • Assist with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management and chemical inventory activities.
  • Collect, analyze, and report EHS metrics and data.
  • Support regulatory audits, safety committees, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Identify workplace hazards and assist with developing appropriate corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support site safety and compliance objectives.


Job Requirements



  • 0-2 years of EHS, safety, or environmental experience preferred; internship or co-op experience is acceptable.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and environmental practices.
  • Ability to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to facilitate training and communicate safety requirements effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Willingness to learn and apply OSHA, EPA, and workplace safety requirements.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Environmental Health and Safety, Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.


Work Experience



  • 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred, including internship or co-op experience.
