Car Body Shell Technician

Mission
|
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of manufacturing operations, part placement in jigs, removing subassemblies from jigs, graining/grinding, drilling, cleaning and/or passivation of finish products with appropriate tools available.
- Able to perform different Special Processes such as Riveting, Bonding, Torquing by completing all necessary qualification and meeting all requirements.
- Able to perform other related tasks at the discretion of the immediate line supervisor/manager (PLS/PLM)
- Ability to use tools such as torque/Allen wrenches, measuring tape, drill, sander (pneumatic/battery)
- Assist in carrying out inspections (e.g. dimensional) and tests (e.g. watertightness) following ALSTOMs guideline and requirements.
- Elaborate and suggest the creation of devices/ templates using drawing, to minimize repetitive operations, aiming for continuous process improvement
- Check reception of materials issued by the warehouse and properly store the materials received, to maintain the order, tidiness and efficiency of the workplace.
- Ability to obtain the needed certifications (crane) and qualifications (manlifts).
- Assist and help the Manufacturing into performing the daily production shear tests and Industrial Quality into collecting the welded specimens for tensile testing.
- Assuring the logistic bins are filled with the correct material and temper for the daily production shear testing or any other testing to assure quality of the final product.
- Must be able to read blueprints or work instructions, set-up of jigs and fixtures.
- Must have working knowledge and ability to safely use a variety of hand and power tools
- Must have ability to work in a safe manner compliant with all Alstom Zero Deviation Procedures and Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and guidelines
- Perform caulking and finish sealing operations in accordance with ALSTOM standards
- Effectively communicate with Supervision, Engineering Department and the Quality Department discussing design changes or material changes
- Must be adaptable - accepting different work assignments - maintain a clean working environment
- The ability to Listen, Learn, comprehend and assist welders to achieve all company and customer requirements.
- Assist in new process development and troubleshooting of products.
- The ability to utilize digital technology in day-to-day work responsibilities
- Acceptable hand/eye coordination and ability to pass visual acuity test
- Any and all other responsibilities, in addition to those mentioned above, as assigned by supervisor/manager. Any interpretation/clarification with responsibilities above will be settled by the supervisor/manager. Qualifications
|
Education: High School Diploma Experience: 1 to 3 years mfg. environment, sheet metal or fabrication mfg. preferred.
