Position Summary
Recruits prospective first-year and transfer students through the development and implementation of strategic recruitment initiatives designed to achieve the University's enrollment goals. Serves as the University's primary representative within assigned recruitment territories by building relationships with prospective students, families, school counselors, community organizations, and other key constituents. Represents the University at recruitment events, presentations, and outreach activities while providing exceptional student service throughout the admissions process.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Territory Management
  • Serve as the primary recruitment representative for an assigned territory by developing and executing strategic recruitment plans that support enrollment goals.
  • Manage a travel schedule that includes high school visits, college fairs, community events, yield programs, and other recruitment activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospective students, families, high school counselors, educators, and community organizations to promote the University and increase applications and enrollment.
  • Utilize multiple communication channels, including phone, email, virtual appointments, text messaging, and social media, to engage prospective students throughout the recruitment cycle.
  • Evaluate territory performance and recommend strategies to improve recruitment outcomes.
  • Student Recruitment & Advising
  • Counsel prospective students and families regarding admissions requirements, academic programs, financial aid resources, campus opportunities, and the application process.
  • Conduct individual appointments and group presentations for prospective students, families, school groups, and community organizations.
  • Represent Undergraduate Admissions during campus visit programs, open houses, and yield events.
  • Respond to inquiries in a timely, professional, and student-centered manner while providing accurate admissions information.
  • Campus & Community Engagement
  • Coordinate and participate in on-campus recruitment programs and special events.
  • Represent the University at local, regional, national, and international recruitment events, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with academic colleges and campus partners to support recruitment initiatives and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Develop partnerships with schools and community organizations that enhance recruitment efforts.
  • Data, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and student interactions within the University's CRM system (Slate).
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret recruitment data, event outcomes, enrollment trends, and territory performance.
  • Monitor recruitment effectiveness and recommend improvements to outreach strategies and recruitment initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with departmental procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Additional Responsibilities
  • Participate in special projects and departmental initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • A minimum of one year of experience in admissions, recruitment, student services, higher education, or a related field.
    • Reliable transportation and ability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight travel as needed. Frequent local travel expected. Statewide and national travel may be required.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Knowledge of undergraduate admissions and enrollment management practices;
    • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems (e.g., Slate, Salesforce);
    • Understanding of basic higher education recruitment and student development principles;
    • Experience working with diverse student populations.

    Strong candidates for the position will have demonstrated ability to:
    • Build relationships with prospective students and educational partners;
    • Communicate effectively through presentations and written correspondence;
    • Organize multiple priorities while managing extensive travel schedules;
    • Analyze recruitment data and use findings to improve recruitment outcomes;
    • Work independently and collaboratively in a team environment;
    • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining attention to detail.
