SUMMARY: This position is responsible for Emergency Disaster Services Training, Compliance and Disaster Response throughout The Salvation Army Western Division which includes the states of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Supervisory Responsibilities: None Education and/or Experience: Three or more years' experience in an Emergency Management or Disaster Response role to include training. Bachelor's degree in emergency management is preferred. Qualifications: The requirements below represent the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
Other Qualifications: Must pass all applicable background checks. You must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army and FEMA IC Certificates ICS.100, ICS.200, ICS.700 and ICS.800 are required with preferred ICS.300 and ICS.400 and State of Nebraska Basic Certification, Capstone preferred. During these events, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand for long periods of time; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud. NOTE: While performing the duties of this job during disaster response, the employee is regularly exposed to dangerous or precarious situations, including moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electric shock, and loud noises.
