Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Level II NDT Technician with qualifications and hands-on experience in Radiographic Testing (RT), Computed Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT).

The Level II Technician will perform nondestructive testing and inspection activities in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and client requirements. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, accurate documentation, and providing reliable inspection results in industrial environments.



Responsibilities

    Perform Level II NDT inspections utilizing RT, CR, DR, MT, PT, and UTT methods in accordance with approved procedures and applicable codes and standards.
  • Set up and calibrate NDT equipment and verify equipment is functioning properly prior to use.
  • Perform industrial radiography using approved techniques and exposure parameters.
  • Perform Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR) examinations, including image acquisition and evaluation in accordance with applicable procedures and acceptance criteria.
  • Process, review, interpret, and evaluate radiographic images for quality and relevant indications.
  • Perform Magnetic Particle (MT) and Liquid Penetrant (PT) examinations and evaluate indications based on applicable acceptance criteria.
  • Perform Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UTT) to determine material thickness and identify areas of potential corrosion or material loss.
  • Interpret applicable codes, standards, procedures, specifications, drawings, and client requirements.
  • Evaluate inspection results and accurately document findings.
  • Prepare clear and complete NDT inspection reports and maintain required inspection documentation.
  • Identify and communicate reportable indications and nonconforming conditions to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain proper traceability of inspection results, equipment, and documentation.
  • Establish and maintain required radiation boundaries and controlled areas during radiographic operations.
  • Follow all applicable radiation safety requirements and company/client procedures.
  • Properly handle, operate, transport, and secure radiographic equipment and radioactive materials as applicable.
  • Perform required equipment checks and maintain inspection equipment in good working condition.
  • Work closely with other technicians, supervisors, quality personnel, operations, and client representatives.
  • Assist with training and provide guidance to Level I technicians and RT Assistants as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and professional work environment and comply with all company and client safety requirements.
  • Perform additional NDT methods and inspection activities as assigned based on qualifications and project requirements.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current Level II qualifications/certifications in applicable NDT methods, including RT, MT, PT, and UTT, in accordance with employer written practice and applicable industry requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with Computed Radiography (CR) and Digital Radiography (DR) equipment and techniques.
  • Previous industrial NDT experience, preferably within oil & gas, petrochemical, refining, pipeline, fabrication, power generation, or other heavy industrial environments.
  • Must meet applicable training, experience, and examination requirements for assigned NDT methods.
  • Strong knowledge of radiographic techniques, image quality requirements, exposure setup, and image interpretation.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as ASME, API, AWS, and ASTM, depending on project/client requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret procedures, drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to independently set up equipment, perform examinations, interpret results, and complete required documentation within Level II responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of NDT safety requirements and radiation safety practices.
  • Ability to accurately document inspection results and complete reports in a timely manner.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members and client representatives.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be able to meet company, client, and site-specific requirements, including applicable background, drug/alcohol, and safety requirements.
  • Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends, overtime, and extended schedules as project needs require.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to project and client locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current IRRSP or applicable state radiographer certification/card where required.
  • Previous experience performing RT using CR and DR systems in field environments.
  • Experience with both conventional and digital radiographic techniques.
  • Additional NDT certifications or advanced inspection qualifications are a plus.
  • Experience working turnarounds, outages, maintenance projects, new construction, fabrication shops, or pipeline projects.
  • Familiarity with client-specific inspection procedures and reporting systems.

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs/ladders, and access elevated work areas as required.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when required and properly trained.
  • Ability to lift and carry NDT equipment and materials associated with assigned work.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and respiratory protection when applicable.
  • Must be able to safely perform radiographic work and meet all applicable radiation safety requirements.
