What You'll Do:
- Perform field modifications, retrofits, upgrades, repairs, and troubleshooting on rail vehicles and related equipment, working with systems from 24VDC control circuits through 480VAC power systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and installation instructions to diagnose issues and complete quality installations.
- Test, inspect, commission, and validate modified systems, identifying root causes of failures and implementing corrective actions in line with engineering and safety requirements.
- Document completed work, identified deficiencies, corrective actions, testing activities, and commissioning results clearly and accurately.
- Support startup, commissioning, warranty, and field service activities at customer sites while working independently and maintaining high standards of safety and workmanship.
What You'll Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+years of experience in performing field modifications and validating system functionality.
- 2+years of troubleshooting experience in electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems.
- 2+years of experience in hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
What Sets You Apart:
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems from 24VDC through 480VAC.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering change documentation.
- Skilled in the use of electrical test equipment including multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and related diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve complex technical problems with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards
- Experience commissioning rail vehicles, transit systems, industrial equipment, or other complex electromechanical systems.
- Ability to perform software-assisted diagnostics and fault analysis.
- Familiarity with CAN communication networks, PLC controls, or vehicle control systems.
- Previous field service or startup/commissioning experience in a customer-facing environment.
