Position Summary

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk plays a critical role in supporting daily warehouse and distribution operations by ensuring materials and products are received, packaged, processed, and shipped accurately and on time. This position works closely with manufacturing, warehouse, and logistics teams to support customer deliveries and internal plant operations. The ideal candidate has experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, and material handling equipment and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.



Key Responsibilities



  • Prepare, package, and process outgoing shipments for customers and internal locations.
  • Coordinate shipments using carriers such as UPS, DHL, and LTL freight providers.
  • Receive, inspect, and accurately record inbound materials and products.
  • Utilize handheld scanners and warehouse management systems to manage inventory and shipment transactions.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, or similar equipment.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, and inventory records.
  • Follow established safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Learn and support hazardous materials (Hazmat) shipping processes and certifications as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely movement of materials and customer orders.



Required Qualifications



  • Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Experience using handheld scanners or inventory tracking systems.
  • Ability to learn shipping procedures, carrier systems, and warehouse processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate material handling equipment.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Strong shipping and logistics experience.
  • Experience processing shipments with UPS, DHL, FedEx, or LTL carriers.
  • Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience.
  • SAP experience.
  • Hazmat shipping knowledge or certification experience.
  • Reach truck, forklift, Big Joe, or other powered industrial equipment experience.


Total Compensation = Pay range + Benefits

Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Tennant Sales and Service Co. reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualifications of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity. The salary range reflects both entry into the role and future growth. Total Compensation = Base Salary + Benefits
