About This Role

As technology becomes increasingly vital to facility operations, this role will diagnose, lead, and implement diverse technical systems to improve building function. Primary responsibilities include managing two distinct, proprietary Building Automation Systems (BAS): Honeywell and Automated Logic. Beyond BAS operations, the role will also lead key departmental programs, including eSight Utility Management, electronic utility metering, oversight of the university's fire protection control systems, and leadership of the Maintenance Program Coordinator (special projects and data).

What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Nine years of relevant experience to include leadership of facility technical systems (Building Automation Systems) and people (direct supervision of a technical team). Requirements may be met through a combination of work experience and education.
  • Valid Driver's License


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Technology, Engineering)
  • 5 years of experience with HVAC & DDC Controls, Networks, Routers and WANS, Mechanical Systems, including experience with managing a large building automation & controls system.
  • 5 years of HVAC & DDC Controls, Networks, Mechanical System experience working in a commercial or university setting.
  • 3 years of LonWorks, Modbus, or BACNET programming experience.
  • Familiarity with HVAC Controls, Networks, Routers and WANS.
  • Experience with systems that involve Advanced Solutions such as Tridium, Echelon products, or other open technologies for Building automation / integration solution a plus.
  • Experience in managing a large building automation & controls system.
  • Ability to interface and effectively work with various groups and cultures.
  • Individual must balance multiple competing priorities, meet deadlines, be responsive and thrive in a team environment.
  • Self-driven, results-orientated with a positive outlook and clear focus.
  • Outstanding organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Microsoft Project.
  • MBA or Similar
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional, MCSA/MCSE, or similar IT Certifications.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure.
